Given a choice who wouldn’t want every day to be a dream come true with only ups and highs and ups and highs! It would make life so much more easier and fun – isn’t it?
Well, not exactly – Just imagine if you have to wear the same dress every day or if you get to live the same day everyday or if everyone around you is a clone of you – thinking, behaving, acting exactly the same way as you do – wouldn’t it get very monotonous and boring!! Who wouldn’t want some splash of colors in their daily lives?
The reality is that lows and highs, ups and downs are two sides of the same coin and there are going to be good and not so good days. The question is
- Can these difficult times still teach us something?
- Can we extract something positive from these dark moments?
- Do the dark clouds really have a silver lining?
The lows in life can actually help us bounce back with more energy and vigour provided they are steered through in a mindful way.
Spend time to ruminate, do self-discovery and be your own best critique
No one knows us better than we ourselves do. Spending time with oneself is sometimes the only thing needed to help guide us on the way forward. All answers lie within us and we need to be watchful of our thoughts, feelings and actions to find that perfect answer.
Create an hour during the week that is totally yours and is used to reflect on your beliefs, immerse in your thoughts and talk to yourself on what’s happening in life vs what you want to happen. Creative ideas will flow in during this time to help you take concrete next steps to move towards your goals.
Accept yourself, the present situation and others as they are
Everything is perfect in its current form. Current situations and the people that I am surrounded with are the “BEST”.
A lot of us are unhappy with ourselves, with others, with the present situations since we feel nothing including ourselves are meeting our own expectations. Everything conflicts with our own version of how things should be. We resist, fight, deny, struggle with everything and give it our constant energy to change the way we want it to be. However unfortunately nothing changes.
Acceptance is the first and only step to CHANGE myself and others. Instead of resisting and denying situations, accepting it as they are, opens the door to then contemplate upon the situation with a right perspective and all actions thereof would be in the right direction.
Life is a continuous learning journey. Be present in the PRESENT to enjoy each moment
The past is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift and hence it is called “PRESENT”
Every situation is an opportunity to learn. Looking back at even the most difficult situation, we can see that it made us a better and stronger human being. Ongoing learning is the key to growth and happiness.
Grab every opportunity that comes today, open your doors to challenges and get out of your comfort zones. Take calculated risks and do what you love to do.
The present moment will become past in a second and we can only live it once. So, live it to the fullest.
LIVE like there is no tomorrow, LEARN as you will live forever.
Life is not so much of what happens to us but more of how we respond to what happens to us.
Though we all dread tough times, it is through living in these moments that we are enlightened and made aware of the tremendous energy all of us possess to face the challenges in life. Our perspective of looking at these situations provides us immense opportunities to GROW and to be a better, stronger human being.
