The topic that we are discussing these days is “Self-Discipline – A Miracle or A Practice !!!!”
Question – What are some simple steps one can take to make Self-Discipline a way of life?
Answer – If you dream, have goals, a vision, a purpose in life, and want to be successful, then being self-disciplined is not optional. The path to self-discipline is simple but not easy. One needs constant focus, attention and intention to make it work.
Let’s look at a few effective ways in which we can improve our commitment to being self-disciplined:
It’s a daily affair – Discipline is a way of life, and it’s visible in every aspect of your life. It is not possible to be disciplined at work and not be disciplined in your personal life. Indiscipline in one area impacts all the other areas of your life. So, it’s all or none, the need is to focus on taking small steps that will ultimately result in achieving more significant milestones.
Make self-discipline a Priority – Do self-talk to ensure there is a need for you to be moving in this direction. Unless there is a compelling reason, you might fall back to the usual way of living life, hence figure out the WHY.
Reflect – Reflect on your life till now and critically evaluate what have you lost due to this habit of being not disciplined. Would you have achieved better career growth, better health, more time and money freedom, what else? When you accept and acknowledge what lack of self-discipline has cost you in your life, you will be forced to take a step to better your future life.
Set Ambitious Goals – Set goals that excite you and push you to give it your best. If the vision of your future is not exciting enough – today is going to be boring as well. Make sure you have something that drives you, pushes you beyond your comfort zone, and gives you the intrinsic motivation to keep going. This one step can make self-discipline a way of life!
“The Cost of Discipline is always LESS than the price of regret. So, Self-Discipline is the BIGGEST investment for success in Life.”
